Director of Finance (Insurance)

Our client, a leading international business operating across insurance/financial services has an exciting financial leadership opportunity based in their Grand Cayman office. The successful candidate will hold leadership and accountability for financial reporting, controls, along with a range of other responsibilities.

 

Further responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible and accountable for the daily financial operations including accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial analysis and reporting
  • Preparation for and compliance with periodic internal audits of accounting processes and controls and annual external financial statement audits and shareholder financial statements
  • Responsible and accountable for financial reporting at Board meetings including preparation and analysis of results, dividends calculations and preparation of related Board materials
  • Approve payments (cheques and wires and investments) and review account reconciliations
  • Manages operating cash flows and financial operations
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate financial analysis including budgeting and forecasting
  • Detailed monitoring and analysis of actual results including issue resolution and communication of results and operating issues

 

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Business/Finance/Accounting
  • Recognised Professional Accounting Designation (CPA, CA) or equivalent
  • 7-10 years’ work experience in financial reporting, planning and forecasting
  • Extensive reinsurance industry knowledge and experience, preferably at the international level
  • Strong understanding of insurance products and knowledge of IFRS including IFRS17
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills and related experience essential to work effectively internally at all levels across a large and diverse organization and externally with influential rating agencies and regulatory and tax authorities

 

The opportunity offers a fixed salary in the range of $180,000 – $225,000 USD + annal bonus + other attractive benefits.
