Paralegal (Dispute Resolution)

A new and stand out opportunity in the Cayman legal market for a Paralegal with Litigation experience. Baraud successfully recruited the last Paralegal into this department and so are best placed to talk you through the team, firm and responsibilities of this fantastic opportunity.

A leading offshore law firm is seeking an experienced Dispute Resolution Paralegal to join its Cayman Islands practice. The successful candidate will support lawyers on complex, high-value, and cross-border disputes.

To be considered for this Paralegal opportunity it is essential you have Dispute Resolution experience and have exposure to supporting high value, complex cross border litigation.

Suitably qualified Caymanians/right to work holders are preferred and will be prioritised.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and assist with court filings and legal correspondence, including pleadings, and affidavits in high-value cross-border litigation.
• This is a really exciting time to be joining this team as they have many high profile files approaching trial so you could truly gain fantastic experience and exposure.
• Conduct legal research and strategic analysis.
• Support the fee earners in the Dispute Resolution team with case strategy, preparation and analysis and summarising legal and factual issues.
• Coordinate and manage document production, disclosure exercises, and bundle preparation for hearings.
• Assist with case management, deadlines, and liaison with courts, counsel, and external service providers

Requirements

• It is essential you have demonstrable dispute resolution / litigation experience as a paralegal in another law firm.
• Strong drafting, research, and organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively under pressure whilst maintaining a high standard of work.
• Proactive, collaborative, and confident working with senior lawyers and international teams.
