Job Description

Legal Secretary - Dispute Resolution

Baraud has an exclusive opportunity for a highly experienced Dispute Resolution Legal Secretary seeking a career making role.

A leading international offshore law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join its prestigious and busy Dispute Resolution practice. This is a key role providing high-level support to a team of five fee earners (associate to Partner level) including the group Partner of the practice.

This is not an everyday Legal Secretary position. It is a standout opportunity for a highly experienced Dispute Resolution Legal Secretary with a vast amount of litigation experience. This role requires someone who is proactive, highly organised, has had previous Partner exposure and is confident working in a fast-paced litigation environment.
Caymanian and PR Status holders will be prioritised.

The Role
You will provide comprehensive legal secretarial support to a team of five, always maintaining strict confidentiality. The position offers a varied and hands-on workload, playing an essential part in the smooth running of the dispute resolution practice.

This is a highly competitive opportunity with a great salary and benefits attached but we must stress this role is for a pro-active, hardworking individual that when needed is happy to go above and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
Legal & Practice Support

  • Provide full secretarial and administrative support to assigned attorneys including to the leading Partner of this team. As a result there is also an element of PA responsibilities.
  • Prepare, organise, and index court bundles; retrieve case materials as required.
  • Transcribe correspondence and legal documents. Draft and respond to routine correspondence, including engagement letters.
  • Assist with the collection of due diligence documentation.
  • Establish and maintain accurate, up-to-date client and matter files, including conflict checks.
  • Input attorney’s time recording when required and manage the billing process.
  • Assist in preparing invoices, monitoring accounts receivable, and when required following up on outstanding payments.
  • Manage complex diaries, schedule appointments, coordinate meetings, and make travel arrangements.
  • Support attorneys with day-to-day organisational tasks and general PA duties.
  • Liaise with local and international clients, external counsel, court offices, and Judges’ secretaries.
  • Greet clients and manage enquiries in attorney’s absence.

Teamwork & Collaboration

  • Work closely with other secretaries to ensure smooth workflow across the practice.
  • Assist junior secretaries in the team when required.

Essential Requirements
We are looking for a well-rounded, collaborative individual with:

  • Strong experience as a legal secretary/PA within litigation, disputes and insolvency. Ideally within your career to date you will have supported equity and salaried Partners as well as attorneys.
  • High attention to detail, strong organisational skills, and the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
  • A proactive mindset and willingness to assist when needed.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours when required.
