Property Legal Assistant

A rare and unique opportunity has arisen in Cayman for a Property Legal Assistant to join a well known, longstanding and highly regarded property department within a successful offshore law firm. If you have a legal career to date and are looking to further your career in property and real estate law, then this is a role that you should apply for!

Role:

  • You will sit in a team and work alongside Partners and fee earners supporting them on a wide variety of property transactions including the sale and purchase of residential properties. You will also be exposed to commercial property sales, leases and development work.
  • This role will be varied, and you will assist with property title reviews, taking initial client instructions, opening files, drafting legal documentation and completing land registry searches.
  • This firm is a super friendly and progressive team looking for a hands on, reliable and motivated legal assistant to join the team.

Required Experience:

  • To be considered for this role you must have a legal background or paralegal qualification.
  • Experience in another property department would be advantageous. However Legal Secretaries and Paralegals with experience in other departments, willing to learn and that have an evident passion for property and real estate will also be considered. Strong contract drafting, legal administration, file management and due diligence skills are required.
  • Familiarity with Cayman Islands Lands & Survey processes and documentation is desired.
  • For those that don’t have a property background but have wider legal experience you should be a quick learner, passionate about property law. Strong administration and client service is essential for this role.
  • Someone who has a high attention to detail, is reliable, prides themself on their hard-working attitude and really wants to learn and grow is the exact individual our client seeks.
