Job Description

Dispute Resolution Senior Associate / Counsel

A leading offshore law firm is seeking an exceptional disputes lawyer to join its Cayman Islands practice at Senior Associate or Counsel level.

This opportunity is suited to a technically outstanding litigator with approximately 5–8 years’ PQE gained from a leading offshore, or elite international disputes practice. The team advises on some of the most complex and high-value cross-border disputes, insolvency, restructuring, fraud and asset recovery matters in the offshore market.

The firm is seeking a lawyer with genuinely strong technical ability, excellent legal judgement and drafting skills. Candidates should be confident managing sophisticated matters, analysing complex legal issues and working directly with high-level clients, senior counsel and international stakeholders.

The Opportunity
This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly regarded offshore disputes team handling premium international work. This role offers significant responsibility, direct client exposure and strong long-term progression prospects within an ambitious practice.
A competitive offshore remuneration package and relocation support is available for overseas candidates (if required).

The firm is particularly interested in:

  • Cayman-based disputes lawyers currently practicing in Cayman who are seeking the next career step.
  • Lawyers from top-tier international firms with strong exposure to offshore, restructuring, insolvency or complex cross-border disputes work. Those who have been exposed to Cayman matters will be particularly attractive to this client.

Key Requirements

  • 5–8 years’ PQE from a recognised commonwealth jurisdiction.
  • Strong technical grounding in complex commercial disputes and excellent drafting, advocacy support and analytical skills.
  • Experience handling sophisticated cross-border matters and any exposure to Cayman matters will really stand out.
